1. Information We Collect and Process

In the current Alpha version, you need to sign in to use the full globe. Visitors who do not sign in can use a screen-saver mode that only shows the globe turning slowly; no account information is processed in that case.

Sign-in and Account Information

If you sign in to use the full globe or editing features, we may process:

• Your email address (if you use an email sign-in link, the link is sent to that address; no password is used)
• Your name and email address provided through Google Sign-In
• An internal user identifier required for account authentication
• Authentication and session information
• The “like” and “been here” marks you make (which object, and when)
• The ID (handle) you choose, which other users can see, for example on Community posts
• Your animal dex and discovery records (which entries you collected, and when), stored with your account so they follow you across devices
• Posts and the name you leave in the Community, and reports you make; posts become public after the operator reviews them

These marks are stored against your account so that you can see your own “My activity” list. Other users cannot see who pressed them; only the per-object totals and the popularity rankings (numbers) are public. Deleting your account deletes these records too.

My Earth Toy does not receive or store your Google account password when you use Google Sign-In. Authentication is handled through Google and the relevant authentication service.

If you do not sign in, only the screen-saver mode (the slowly turning globe) is available.

Anonymous Presence Information

The Service may temporarily process anonymous presence information for features such as displaying the approximate number of people currently using the site.

This information is used only for providing the relevant real-time feature. It is not intentionally stored by the site owner for the purpose of identifying individual visitors or building user profiles.

Technical Information

My Earth Toy does not operate its own advertising or marketing tracking system.

However, infrastructure providers such as Cloudflare and Supabase may automatically process limited technical information required to deliver, secure and maintain the Service. This may include information such as IP addresses, browser or device information, request information and timestamps.

Such processing may occur according to the operational and security practices of those service providers.

2. How We Use Information

Information processed through My Earth Toy is used only where necessary for purposes such as:

• Authenticating users
• Maintaining sign-in sessions
• Counting registered members
• Checking editing or administrative permissions
• Showing likes and “been here” marks, totals and popularity rankings
• Providing Service functionality
• Maintaining security and reliability
• Diagnosing problems and improving the Alpha version

My Earth Toy does not use personal information for:

• Targeted advertising
• Advertising profiling
• Selling personal data
• Third-party marketing
• Commercial behavioural tracking

3. Sharing and Sale of Personal Information

My Earth Toy does not sell your personal information.

Personal information is also not provided to advertisers, data brokers or other companies for their independent marketing purposes.

Certain third-party service providers may process limited information because they provide infrastructure required to operate the Service.

Supabase

Supabase is used for authentication, database and backend functionality.

The Supabase infrastructure currently used by My Earth Toy is hosted in the Tokyo, Japan region.

Supabase may process information required to provide database, authentication and associated backend services.

Resend

Sign-up confirmation emails and email sign-in links are sent through the email delivery service Resend (United States), from “My Earth Toy <[email protected]>”. Resend processes the recipient’s email address and the message content to deliver them.

Cloudflare

My Earth Toy is served using Cloudflare Pages.

Cloudflare may process standard network information, including IP addresses and web requests, as part of providing content delivery, security, performance and network infrastructure.

Google

If you choose Google Sign-In, Google’s authentication services are used.

Information handled directly by Google is also subject to Google’s applicable privacy policies and terms.

Fonts on our pages are loaded from Google Fonts, so basic request information such as your browser’s IP address may be sent to Google.

YouTube

The intro video on the About page is embedded in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). If you play it, YouTube’s (Google’s) privacy policy applies and YouTube may use cookies or similar technologies.

Ko-fi

The “Support” link leads to the external service Ko-fi (ko-fi.com). Payments are handled by Ko-fi and payment providers such as PayPal; My Earth Toy never receives card or bank details. The operator can see the name and message a supporter leaves on Ko-fi (and an email address where Ko-fi provides one) and uses them only to say thank you and to answer questions.

The use of these services does not mean that My Earth Toy sells your personal information to these providers. They provide technical infrastructure required to operate the Service.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Account-related information may be stored through Supabase for as long as it is reasonably necessary to maintain your account and provide the Service.

If you request deletion of your account or personal information, the relevant information will generally be deleted within a reasonable period unless there is a legitimate technical or legal reason that requires limited information to be retained.

Certain backup data, security records or infrastructure logs may remain temporarily according to the retention policies of the relevant service providers.

5. Information Stored in Your Browser

My Earth Toy may store certain preferences locally in your browser to make the Service easier to use.

This may include:

• Place-name display settings
• Animal and landmark visibility settings
• Display or viewing preferences
• Other user-interface preferences
• Language and sound-effect settings
• Your map-game and quiz records and your sticker album (kept only in this browser unless you sign in)
• Authentication or sign-in session information

Clearing cookies, local storage or site data in your browser may reset these preferences and may sign you out.

6. Cookies and Advertising Tracking

My Earth Toy currently does not display advertising and does not intentionally use advertising tracking cookies.

Cookies or similar browser-storage technologies may still be used where necessary for authentication, session management, security or essential Service functionality.

Third-party providers such as Google, Supabase or Cloudflare may also use their own cookies or similar technologies when providing authentication, security or infrastructure services.

7. International Data Processing

Because My Earth Toy relies on internet-based infrastructure and third-party cloud services, some information may be processed outside the country in which you live.

The primary Supabase database used by the Service is currently hosted in Tokyo, Japan.

Other infrastructure providers, including Cloudflare and Google, operate global networks and may process technical information in multiple countries or regions.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You may contact the site owner to request:

• Information about personal data associated with your account
• Correction of inaccurate account information
• Deletion of your account and associated personal information
• Information about how your data is handled

Deleting your account may also remove access to features associated with that account.

If you would like your account or personal information deleted, please contact the site owner.

9. Security

My Earth Toy follows a data-minimisation approach and aims to collect only the information reasonably required to provide its features.

Authentication, database hosting and network infrastructure rely on established third-party services such as Supabase, Google and Cloudflare rather than implementing all authentication and security infrastructure independently.

However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

The Service is also currently in Alpha and its technical architecture continues to evolve. If security or privacy issues are identified, the aim is to investigate and address them as the Service continues to improve.

10. Children and Younger Users

My Earth Toy is an educational toy globe made for children to enjoy together with a parent or guardian. The globe, the About page and the encyclopedia pages can be used without signing in, and no account information is processed then. Children should use the service together with a parent or guardian.

Accounts should be created by a parent or legal guardian, or by users aged 14 or over.

My Earth Toy does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14 (under 13 for children in the United States) without the consent of a parent or legal guardian. If we learn that such information has been collected, we will delete it promptly. Parents and guardians can ask us to review or delete information about their child using the contact below.

Please help children avoid writing personal details such as their name, school or contact information in the Community. Community posts are reviewed by the operator before they become public.

11. Alpha Status and Ongoing Development

My Earth Toy is currently an experimental Alpha project under active development.

As a result, the following may continue to change:

• Features and user interface
• Account and sign-in functionality
• Data-storage architecture
• Hosting and service providers
• Editing and community features
• Data-processing practices

The Service is being developed with the intention of keeping personal-data collection to a minimum.

If development introduces a material change to how personal information is collected, stored, shared or processed, this Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect that change.

Because this is an Alpha release, individual features may also be added, changed or removed as development continues.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as My Earth Toy develops or as the technologies used to operate the Service change.

When significant changes are made, this page will be updated and the effective or updated date shown at the top of the policy will be revised.

Users are encouraged to review the latest version of this Privacy Policy from time to time.
