Autograph Tower

Autograph Tower is the tallest building in Indonesia and the tallest in the Southern Hemisphere. It stands in Jakarta as the centerpiece of Thamrin Nine, a huge complex of offices, shops, homes, hotels, and sports and entertainment places covering about 570,000 square metres. At 382.9 metres, it passed Auckland's Sky Tower for the southern record and Gama Tower for the Indonesian record.

The tower was designed by the American firm Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates. It topped out in October 2020 and was completed in 2022. The complex was planned with three supertall buildings joined by a shopping podium, and the developer is PT Putragaya Wahana, which also built the nearby UOB Plaza. The offices fill the lower and middle floors, while the upper floors were planned for a Waldorf Astoria hotel.

What can visitors see?

The tower has a three-storey observation deck, on floors 56 to 58, and a Sky Garden area. The card text for this tower also mentions a glass viewing box that sticks out from the building at 250 metres. The tower is connected to its neighbor, Luminary Tower, by a shopping mall called Agora. Luminary Tower has 62 floors and is 304 metres tall.

Is it a green building?

Yes, the tower is described as a Class A green skyscraper with platinum certification. It uses up to 30 percent less energy than a normally built tower of the same size. That matters in a hot, busy city like Jakarta, where tall buildings use a lot of power for cooling. The tower's pinwheeling glass planes step in toward a slim crown and a tall spire.
