How tall is Eureka Tower?

A residential skyscraper with a gold-plated crown and a glass cube that slides out from the 88th floor.
It is famous for its blue glass body and gold-plated crown, and for a glass cube called The Edge that slides 3 metres out from the 88th floor. When it was finished, it was the tallest residential building in the world, and it was Melbourne's tallest building from 2006 to 2020.
Why gold, blue and red?
The tower is named after the Eureka Stockade, a rebellion by gold miners in Victoria in 1854. Its gold crown stands for the gold rush, and a red stripe stands for the blood spilled in the revolt. The blue glass represents the blue background of the rebel flag, and the white lines echo the flag's white cross. The white stripes also recall the marks on a surveyor's measuring staff.
Looking from the top
The 88th floor holds the observation deck, now called Melbourne Skydeck, the highest public viewing place in a building in the Southern Hemisphere. Its glass cube, The Edge, slides out 3 metres over the street. Level 89 has a restaurant and bar. At the base there is an art installation of golden bees in a white box, like a man-made hive. Every year the building hosts the Eureka Climb, a race up the stairs.
