An ancient Phrygian and Roman city on the uplands of western Türkiye, whose Temple of Zeus, dedicated at the end of the 1st century AD, is one of the best-preserved Roman temples in Anatolia. It is also known for its unique combined theatre and stadium, Roman stone bridges still in use today, and a round market hall (macellum) inscribed with Emperor Diocletian's price edict; it has been on UNESCO's World Heritage Tentative List since 2012.
